Clay pulls company and contact data from a marketplace of third-party providers into spreadsheet-style tables, then runs enrichment, AI research agents (Claygents) and workflows on each row. It can run waterfall enrichment across several providers, track signals such as job changes, and push results to a sequencer, a CRM or ad audiences on LinkedIn, Meta and Google.
Best for
B2B teams and agencies that want to combine several data sources and AI research into one repeatable list-building workflow.
Not for
Anyone who only needs a simple contact database and a sequencer; Clay is priced on actions and credits and takes real setup time to pay off.
How to get your money’s worth
01Build and test a table on 20 to 50 rows before running it on a full list, because every enrichment step consumes actions or credits.
02Use waterfall enrichment so cheaper providers are tried first and paid lookups only run when earlier ones return nothing.
03If you run paid social, use the Ads feature to sync an enriched account list to Meta, LinkedIn or Google as an audience instead of exporting CSVs.
